Monday, August 26, 2019, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology held the largest international event, the International Conference on Green Agro-industry and Bioeconomy (ICGAB), which has been in its 3rd year at FTP UB. This event was held at the Grand Ballroom Hotel Ijen Suites, Malang. The series of ICGAB events began at 08.30 with the opening by the MC followed by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya. Next was the remarks by the Chairperson Dr. Agustin Krisna Wardani, STP, M.Sc, followed by remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. Dr. Ir mam Santoso, MP. then remarks from representatives of the UB’s rectorate parties. After the official program opened, there was a delivery of material from the 5 keynote speakers namely Dr. Song Gu Hwang from Korea, Dr. Pung Le Khim from Vietnam, Dr. Julianne H. Grose from the United States, Dr. Hens Saputra from Indonesia, Dr. Kongkiti Phusavat from Thailand, Yusuf Hendrawan, PhD from Indonesia, and Prof. Jong Hoo Kwon from Korea. The five topics vary between economic improvement with waste utilization and biotechnology. After delivering the material from the keynote speaker, all participants and the committee were given time for coffee breaks until 13:00 WIB. At 13.00 participants were directed to the second floor in their respective rooms for a paralell session. In the paralell session participants are given the opportunity to do an oral presentation which will then be followed by a panel discussion. In this session, participants are given the opportunity to discuss topics related to their classes. The paralell session ends at 17.00 WIB and the results of the best presenters in each class are obtained. The event continued at 6:30 pm namely a gala dinner with participants, the committee, and keynotespekaer. The gala dinner was opened by presenting a traditional Indonesian dance from FTP UB floleta. Next, eat together, then announce the best presentator and best poster. The event ended with a group photo session. The ICGAB event which has been running for 3 years at FTP UB is expected to improve the skills of the FTP academic community in conducting research as well as a venue for journal publications. (ER)
