Laboratory of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Food and Agricultural Products

Description

Laboratory of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Food and Agricultural Products is one of the laboratories under the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Universitas Brawijaya (UB). This laboratory was established in 2009 based on the Rector’s Decree No. 261/SK/2009, Laboratory of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Food and Agricultural Products is an educational laboratory that serves practicum, student research, lecturer research, industrial work practices for vocational students, as well as public services such as training and analytical services in collaboration with the Food Quality and Safety Testing Laboratory which also under the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology FTP – UB.

Function

In line with its vision and mission, the Laboratory of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Food and Agricultural Products is a laboratory that focuses on education, research, and service in the field of food and agricultural products, with the main research being the food sector. In the field of research, this laboratory, like other laboratories in the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology, FTP-UB also develops courses at the S1, S2, and S3 levels, including:

(1) Undergraduate Courses: Basic Chemistry, Food Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Physical Chemistry, Knowledge of Food Ingredients, Food Analysis, Practicum of Biochemistry and Food Analysis, Basic Instrumental Analysis;

(2) Master Degree Courses: Advanced Food Analysis, Bioactive Natural Ingredients, Advanced Food Biochemistry, Physiology of Agricultural Products, Food Component Chemistry, Advanced Enzyme Technology;

(3) Doctoral Degree Courses: Bioactive Components and Their Utilization, Interaction of Food Components, Derivatization of Food Components. Curriculum evaluation is carried out periodically starting with evaluation at the laboratory level, then followed by evaluation at the department level and workshops involving stakeholders from the food industry and peer review from top universities.

Laboratory of Food and Biomass Processing Technology 

Description

Food and Biomass Processing Technology Laboratory organizing education, research and community service programs in the field of processing and engineering food and agricultural products based on local commodities and also water. The laboratory Support the implementation of education in the field of food and biomass processing and engineering through the academic learning process. Besides, this laboratory produce research works that can encourage the development of technology in the field of food and biomass processing and engineering that are directed to produce quality, guaranteed and competitive products.

Laboratory of Nutrition of Food and Agricultural Products

Description

Nutrition or food nutrient is the important component for human health. Bad nutrition can cause decreasing some organ functions in human body. Considering the importance of the food nutrition, that’s why it is needed to conduct research continuously which focuses on food nutrition. Therefore, the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture Technology, Universitas Brawijaya built a Laboratory of Food Nutrition. The scopes of this laboratory are about the study related to nutrition or food nutrient, such as bioavailability of nutrition, bioassay, public nutrition and functional food.

Laboratory of Food Nutrition is aimed for supporting Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi activities of The Department of Food Science and Biotechnology covers learning and teaching process (lab work, discussion, consultation, PBL, etc.), research and public dedication for lecturers, students from the Technology of Agriculture Product or students from any other departments or institutions coordinated by the leader of laboratory of Food nutrition and Agriculture products based on the use of laboratory rules. Laboratory of Food Nutrition does manage Food Nutrition subject. The subjects provided are: Evaluation of Food Nutrient; Advanced Evaluation of Food Nutrient; Food Supplement and Functional food; Nutrient and Public Health; Special Topic in Food Nutrition; Nutrient Food Socialization and Consultation; Human Physiology; and Management System of Food Services

This laboratory does give public services in the form of Consultation and Informant of Development and also food product research cooperates with Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP) Survey, Service of Analysis and Research with experimental animals (by in vivo), judge of processed food competition, food festival and other public dedication activities such as food and nutrient socialization.

Facilities

For supporting the activity in the Food Nutrition Laboratory and Agriculture Products, it has already completed with some laboratory instruments, such as: shaker water bath, spectrophotometer, centrifuge, rotary evaporator, vortex mixer, refrigerator, cages for experimental mice, surgical instruments, animal feed maker and dryer.

 

Laboratory of Biotechnology

Description

Biotechnology is a branch of science that studies the use of living things (bacteria, fungi, viruses, plants, and animals) and their products (enzymes) in the production process to produce goods and services on an industrial scale. Biotechnology is now a new economic wave that will become the world’s economy’s power. Indonesia is one of the largest countries in the world with diverse ecosystems and abundance biomass. This potential gives optimism that biotechnology will be able to be developed optimally in this country. However, few of the millions of biological resources have been explored. Indonesia’s inability to optimally utilize its biological potency and the biomass is due to a lack of skill in the biotechnology field. The development of industrial biotechnology in Indonesia is significant and urgent given the high potential of biological natural resources and the shift in world industrial trends towards a sustainable industry that pays attention to social, economic, and environmental aspects. The existence of the biotechnology laboratory is intended to equip students with reliable research skills in the field of biotechnology that can compete nationally and even internationally. More broadly, as an effort to improve the development of industrial biotechnology in Indonesia, the existence of a biotechnology laboratory is expected to provide benefits to the preparation of human resources. The research areas covered by the biotechnology laboratory are enzyme technology, bioprocess technology, bioenergy, biosensors, bioinformatics, nutrigenomics and food safety.

GOALS

  1. To support good education in order to develop science and technology in industrial biotechnology and able to be applied to the community.
  2. To produce high quality research work in industrial biotechnology that is able to encourage the development of food-based industries and agricultural products.
  3. To actively participate in the dissemination of science and technology of industrial biotechnology that can be applied in society and industry.
  4. To produce national and international publications.

Laboratory of Food Microbiology

Description

Food Microbiology Laboratory is one of the laboratories owned by the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology. This laboratory is located on the 1st floor of building D, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya.

In this laboratory, students learn about the basics of microbiological analysis, fermented food products especially fermented food with local ingredients, along with the test of metabolites produced during the fermentation process, as well as isolation and characterization of microorganisms that play a role in fermented food. Food microbiology laboratory, accessible to all students under the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology.

The Food Microbiology Laboratory has a mandate to conduct education, research and community service related to aspects of microbiology and food safety. The subjects under this laboratory are: General Microbiology, General Microbiology Lab. Practice, Food Microbiology 1, Food Microbiology 2, Food Microbiology Lab. Practice, Food Safety and Toxicology, and Fermented Food.

This laboratory is used as a laboratory for students’ laboratory practice and also as a research laboratory. Every semester the Food Microbiology Laboratory serves 1 laboratory practice for students. Food Microbiology Laboratory Practice in odd semesters and General Microbiology Laboratory Practice in even semesters.

The laboratory is also equipped with air conditioning and a comfortable atmosphere and clean environment so that students can be comfortable in working in a laboratory. This Laboratory has laboratory space addition such as sterilization room and isolation room for bacteria and molds that are used for both research and practical work.

Some microorganism culture collections are available in this laboratory, this microorganism culture can be used by students to support their research and laboratory practice activities. Our microorganism cultures such as Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactococcus lactis, Acetobacter acetii, Acetobacter xylinum, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacherhycytogene coli, Salmonella Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cereviceae, Rhizopus oryzae.

Laboratory of Sensory and Applied Food Science

Description

The sensory and applied food science laboratory is one of the laboratories in Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya. This laboratory was established independently in 2016, as it was previously part of the Food and Agricultural Product Engineering Laboratory. The development of this laboratory is implemented to fulfil market needs, especially the food industry and the latest food science development trends. Sensory science transforms progressively with a more active role and appreciation from the industry.

As food industry is market-oriented and driven by consumer satisfaction, sensory and applied food science are the game changer. The development of this laboratory is expected to be able to improve the competency and academic quality of Food Science and Biotechnology graduates, particularly those related to the competence of sensory and applied food sciences.

Objective(s):

  1. To conduct research to develop science and technology in the field of applied food and sensory science which covers aspects of food quality, consumer behaviour, management, marketing, psychology, and culinology. 
  2. To develop the fields of sensory neuroscience and molecular gastronomy relevant to the development of relevant food products, agricultural products, and non-food products 
  3. To develop proper research facilities in order to achieve an international standardized laboratory. 
  4. Enhance and broaden analytical services in the sensory and applied food fields

Facilities

This laboratory has been developed following the ISO 8589:2007 (en) by providing the relevant facilities such as discussion room, main test room, kitchen and supporting computer room for data analysis. The positive pressure and fully air conditioning are maintained in main test room where 12 sensory booths are located and well installed with 3 different colour lighting to for masking visual appearance of food samples. The kitchen is also well equipped with basic kitchen equipment, coffee machine, as well as coffee and tea manual brew equipment. Special lab coat specifically for working within sensory and applied food science lab facilities is regularly sent for laundry to provide clean lab coat for users. Basic personal protective equipment such as gloves and hairnet are also provided to all users.

 

Laboratory of Food Safety and Quality Testing 

Description

Food Safety and Quality Testing Laboratory provides testing services for food products and agricultural products for research purposes as well as for the general public and industry, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analysis. This laboratory also provides consulting services to the public and industry related to problems in the production process or the quality of food products.

AIMS

  1. Provide food and agricultural product analysis services that can support research and community service activities from the academic community
  2. Provide training services for the development of food products and agricultural products
  3. Cooperating with various parties in developing the quality and safety of food products and agricultural products

TESTING SERVICE

Food Safety and Quality Testing Laboratory service was regulated in the Rector’s Decree no. 35 of 2021 concerning Public Service Tariffs, where the Rector’s Regulation is a renewal of the previous Rector’s Regulation, namely UB Rector’s Regulation No. 42 of 2015 concerning Tariffs for Quality Testing Laboratory Services.

The sample testing services at the Food Safety and Quality Testing Laboratory include:

Physical analysis

includes analysis of viscosity, color, texture, fracture strength, elasticity, and total dissolved solids.

Chemical analysis

includes analysis of Proximate, Starch, Crude Fiber, Total Sugar, Reducing Sugar, Vitamin C, Total Acid, Anthocyanin, Antioxidant IC50, Amylose, Acid Number, Peroxide Number, FFA, Mineral Content (Ca, K, Na, and Li), total carotenoids, salt, pH, and water activity (Aw)

Microbiological analysis 

includes analysis of total plate count (TPC), total lactic acid bacteria (LAB), E. Coli, Salmonella, S. Aureus, and Coliform.

Consulting Service

Consulting services provided to overcome problems that occur in the production process or quality of food and agricultural products for household scale businesses, small and medium enterprises, and large industries.

Food Production and Training Centre

Description

FPTC is a centre for food production and training programs including bakery production (bread, cake, noodle, cookies, etc) and functional food production. The production of bakery products and functional foods is intended for the public. Training programs can be performed for introducing and enhancing student’s skill in making food products especially bakery and functional food. FPTC is also provide training program to public who interested in bakery and functional food production.

Functions and Roles

FPTC aims to improve the technical skills of students from Brawijaya University and other University. The training is also intended for industries mainly small medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as the general public. This training consists of:

Bakery product, covering various kind of bread (sweet bread, soft bun, high-fiber bread, pumpkin bread, local-based commodities bread), as well as various kind of cakes, cookies, crackers, pizza, noodle from local-based commodities.

Training for industry, including determination of the shelf life of food products, HACCP, ISO, GMP, sensory testing, microbiology, and other experts and master trainer field.

Appropriate technology including functional ice cream processing, vegetable nuggets, various flavours of soy milk, fermented food products, VCO, jelly drink, instant grass jelly powder, etc.

Laboratory Equipment and Facilities

FPTC has laboratory equipment for the production of bakery products including ovens, proofers, mixers, hand mixers, exhauster, scales, refrigerators, freezer, small equipment for bakeries, bread cutting machines / slicers, noodle and pasta making machines, sealers.  In addition, FPTC also provides a room to enjoy the dishes or fresh product, and facilities for training.

 

Postharvest and Food Process Engineering Laboratory

Description

Postharvest and Food Process Engineering Laboratory focused on development of technical aspect in food processing and agricultural product through fundamental development of product diversification technologies. Some food processing techniques has been investigated to convert raw material, e.g. agricultural product, animal husbandry, and fisheries, into semi-finished and finished products. The product with high nutritional value, good consumer’s perceptions, good preservation, as well as high economic value are the main aims of the laboratory.

Role

The Post-Harvest and Food Process Engineering Laboratory is expected to become a service center for research, testing, training and product diversification technology development. The Laboratory is basically designed to provide students with opportunity to study and research in the fields that are closely-related to the food industries.

Agricultural Power and Machinery

Description

Agricultural Power and Machinery Laboratory was established on 1998, located in the Department of Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya in Indonesia. Agricultural Power and Machinery Lab conducts fundamental research related to design and analysis of various types of agricultural machinery and equipment, including on-farm and postharvest agricultural machinery and equipment to enhance their functional performance, service life, and reliability. The research efforts have been focused on design & analysis of off-road vehicles, design and analysis postharvest machinery and equipment, soil-machines interactions, agricultural safety and ergonomics, bio-based material development, and biomass and solar energy utilization for agriculture. 

Role

Agricultural Power and Machinery Laboratory is basically designed to provide students with opportunity to study and research in the related fields. In addition, to become service center for research, testing, and training for related industries and publics.

Natural Resource and Environment Laboratory

Description

Natural Resource and Environment Laboratory mainly focused on research in utilization of natural resources in sustainable ways, including land surveys, geographic information system (GIS), soil analysis, land mapping, river water status, irrigation and drainage planning, conservation, and pollution.

Role

Natural Resource and Environment Laboratory designed to serve students to study and research in the related fields of natural resource and environment. Natural Resource and Environment Laboratory also serve as consultation center for related stakeholders, i.e. governmental organization and industries.

Laboratory of Biosystem Mechatronics

Description

Laboratory of Biosystems Mechatronics is a laboratory as well as a workshop that focuses on designing, manufacturing, and repairing agro-industrial tools/machineries. The laboratory is also a place for training to increase professionalism in the field of agro-industrial mechatronics technology and also Agriculture 4.0. The laboratory located at Integrated laboratory, Kepuharjo, around 3 km from the main campus of Universitas Brawijaya.

Role

Laboratory of Biosystems Mechatronics is acting as educational and research laboratory. The research mainly focused on the development of information technology, automations, control systems, and sensors for agriculture. The research efforts have been focused on machine vision and image processing for agriculture, spectroscopy for agricultural application, automation for agricultural tools and machineries, and bio-instrumentation and control for agriculture.

Water Quality and Waste Processing Laboratory

Description

Water Quality and Waste Processing Laboratory is educational and research laboratory which mainly focused on water quality testing and waste processing, i.e. organic waste, inorganic waste, and hazardous and toxic waste. 

Role

Water Quality and Waste Processing Laboratory is intended to provide students to study and research in the related fields of water quality and waste processing. In addition, to become service center for research, testing, and training for related industries and publics.

Environmental Remediation Laboratory 

Description

Remediation and Solid Waste Processing Laboratory is educational and research laboratory which focused on environmental remediation for water, soil, as well as air which polluted by organic or inorganic pollutant. The laboratory located at Integrated Laboratory, Kepuharjo, around 3 km from the main campus of Universitas Brawijaya. 

Role

Remediation and Solid Waste Processing Laboratory is dedicated to facilitate students to enhance their knowledge in the field of environmental remediation. The lab also designed to conduct research for all kind remediation of polluted environment, e.g. air quality testing and analysis, and environmental microbiology testing and analysis.

Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory 

Description

Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory is educational and research laboratory to which mainly focused to optimize the utilization of biomass or bio waste, and microalgae for food, fuel, nutrition, and pharmaceuticals. Bioprocess Engineering Lab conducts basic research in order to achieve three development phases, firstly to strengthening the understanding of basic phenomena especially in the bio-production and bioconversion of microalgae and bio-waste; followed by strengthening the novel methods of bioconversion; and finally produce the highly and commercially valuable bio-products. 

Role

Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory is designed to support educational activities for students to enrich knowledge and skills in bioprocess engineering. In addition, to support basic and applied bioprocessing research as well as industrial bioprocess valorisation, for food, feed, fuels, energy, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals, with focus on the conversion of bio-waste and microalgae.

Agro-Industrial Process Engineering Laboratory

Description

Agro-Industrial Process Engineering Laboratory is one of the laboratories at the Department of Agroindustrial Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya. This laboratory was established in 1998 and known as Process Engineering and Production System Laboratory, which changed to Agrochemical Technology Laboratory in 2007. The laboratory became Agroindustrial Process Engineering Laboratory early this year. This Laboratory facilitates research and practice for students and lecturers in Process Engineering based on agroindustrial products. Our research topics focus on designing the processes and technological advances to improve the added value of the materials, multiple-scale studies, also developing new agroindustrial materials and products. 

Roles and Functions 

Research and practicum are two roles and functions of this Laboratory. The laboratory supports undergraduate, master and doctoral students’ research and academic staffs’ research in the Departments of Agroindustrial Technology and for the students and lecturers in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Universitas Brawijaya. This Laboratory also facilitates practicum for students from the  Department of Agroindustrial Technology in several subjects: Basic of Agroindustrial Materials, Unit Operations and Process, Process Engineering and Optimization, Plant and Factory Design, and Agroindustrial Products Analysis and Evaluation.

Bioindustry Laboratory

Description

The bioindustry laboratory is part of the supporting laboratory in teaching and learning activities at the Department of Agricultural Industrial Technology, Faculty of  Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya. The Bioindustry Laboratory was established in 1998 after issuing the Director General of Higher Education Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture Number: 103/DIKTI/Kep/1998. This rule is given concerning the establishment of the Agricultural Industrial Technology Study Program, where there are 2 (two) study interests formed, namely technology and management interests. This laboratory is focusing on the development and application of bioprocess engineering and biotechnology for sustainable agroindustry. Computing and Agro-Industrial Systems Laboratory

Description

Computing and Agro-Industrial Systems Laboratory is one of the laboratories at the Department of Agroindustrial Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya. This Laboratory facilitates research and practice for students and lecturers in able to develop computational science and systems in order to improve planning and agro-industry development capabilities.

Roles and Functions 

Research and practicum are two roles and functions of this Laboratory. The laboratory supports undergraduate, master and doctoral students’ research and academic staffs’ research in the Departments of Agroindustrial Technology. This Laboratory also facilitates practicum for students in several subjects: Computer Programming, Information System & Technology, Industrial Statistic, Drawing Techniques.

Agroindustrial Management Laboratory

Description

Agroindustrial Management Laboratory is one of the laboratories in the Faculty Agricultural Technology, Brawijaya University. Agroindustrial Management Laboratory is one of the supporting facilities in the educational process, especially in the field of agro-industry management. Agroindustrial Management Laboratory carry out the development and application of various management fields in the agroindustry, including: (1) economic and financial aspects, (2) human factors and productivity, (3) layout and factory facilities, (4) Operations, production, and supply chains, and (5) Decisions and risks.

Roles and Functions 

Research and practicum are two roles and functions of this Laboratory. The laboratory supports undergraduate, master and doctoral students’ research and academic staffs’ research in the Departments of Agroindustrial Technology.

Pilot Plant Laboratory

Pilot Plant facility administered by Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya has a complete flour processing equipment (such as: tuber washing machine, tuber slicer machine, dryer, ball mill and centrifugal grinder). The pilot plant is used as a laboratory for large-scale trials in processing porang tubers into flour. The development of glucomannan extraction methods from porang tuber and the development of derivative products from porang flour is still being carried out in this laboratory.

Laboratory of Entrepreneurship

Faculty of Agricultural Technology provides facilities to support the vision and mission of Universitas Brawijaya creating graduates who have entrepreneurial skill. The entrepreneurship laboratory is used as a laboratory for large-scale trials in juice and beverages processing. In addition, the laboratory gives the students experience about the creation, innovation and management of an entrepreneurship venture.

Facilities

Entrepreneurship laboratory have a complete juice processing line, soybean extractor, sugarcane extractor, pulsed electric field pasteurizer, cabinet drying, Disc Mill, ice cream maker, basket centrifuge (spinner).

 

Educational Laboratory

Description

The Educational Laboratory is a unit under Faculty of Agircultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya (FAT UB). This laboratory was initiated in 2012 and was officially established in 2016 in accordance with the Rector’s Regulation of Universitas Brawijaya Number 20 of 2016 concerning Organizational Structure and Work Procedures. Initially, the Education Laboratory facilitated students who carried out basic practicum in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics.

Functions and Roles

The existence of the Educational Laboratory is expected to facilitate students to be able in technical knowledge and specific skills of basic fields of biology, chemistry, and physics. The focus of the Educational Laboratory is to accommodate basic practicum activities in all Departments under FTP UB. However, this laboratory can also be developed to support all practicum activities and research of undergraduate to doctoral program students under FTP UB.

  1. The vision of The Education Laboratory is to become a superior Educational Laboratory to support the development of science and skills in the field of Agricultural Technology.
  2. The mission of the Educational Laboratory is 1) organizing a professional practicum for all students of FAT UB, 2) providing facilities and infrastructure to carry out practicum activities and supporting research in the field of Agricultural Technology, 3) serving the needs of facilities and infrastructure to support practicum and research activities.

The objectives of the Educational Laboratory are 1) improving student competence through practicum activities, 2) providing adequate facilities and infrastructure for the implementation of practicum and research activities, 3) providing excellent service to all users including practicum and research.

The Educational Laboratory in the fields of chemistry has protein distillation, digestion unit, water distillation, hand refractometer, heating mantle, hot plate stirrer, electric stove, fume hood, micropipette, arm balance, analytical balance, electrical oven, pH meter, shaker, spectrophotometer UV Vis, cold centrifuge, vacuum pump, and vortex.

FAT UB Integrated Laboratory

Description

Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya Malang, is a laboratory service facility for integrated education, research, and community service programs.

Functions and Roles

To become an integrated laboratory with international standard in serving testing, research, and community service to support superior research activities of the FTP UB Integrated Laboratory. FTP UB Integrated Laboratory serves Testing and Analysis of Samples from students/lecturers/researchers from within FTP UB and from outside FTP UB.

LSIH Universitas Brawijaya

LSIH, Brawijaya University is one of laboratory in University Brawijaya under coordination by Rectors. Main function of LISH in University Brawijaya are to supporting scientist and providing analysis services. LSIH was founded October 23 th, 2007 based on letters decision from Brawijaya University Rectors No: 368/SK/2007.  Based on Organizational Structure of Brawijaya University, LSIH has a positions to supporting academics implementation. LSIH has a various and modern instruments in order to facilitate the scientist produce some researches which recognized internationally.

LSIH as a central laboratoium in Brawijaya University has a accreditation ISO 17025 : 2005 from National Accreditation Committe in 2012.  LSIH designed as laboratory for biological sciences and food sciences. LSIH got certified by ISO 9001 : 2008 in 2011, and also certified on karyotyping human blood, protein analysis and water contents on flours product in 2012.

Biosains Institute

Institut Biosains was founded on the Keputusan Rektor No. 111/SK/2012 March, 2 2012 under the name Biosains Laboratory. On November 6, 2015, Biosains won The Best Service Excellent of The Year. This award from Tre Uno Management was given at the 2015 Best of The Best Award which was presented by representatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to the Director of Biosains. Along with the needs and development of activities in Biosains Laboratory and to meet the demands in realizing the A-B-G-C (Academy-Business-Government-Community) synergy, in September 2016 based on Peraturan Rektor No. 40 Tahun 2016,Biosains Laboratory changed its name to the Institut Biosains which is currently located in the Building Institut Biosains, Jl. Mayjend Panjaitan, Brawijaya University. The product that has been successfully launched by Institut Biosains is the GAD65 Diagnostic Kit for the early detection of Diabetes Mellitus. The grand launching of the product was inaugurated by the Director General of Science and Technology Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D. on June 23, 2016.

To supply polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies for researchers, the pharmaceutical industry (example: Bio Farma) which are used as basic materials for the development of detection or therapy kits, especially for therapeutic targets or detection of human/animal patients from Indonesia in supporting industrial development in the pharmaceutical sector and even into vaccines products, and central research laboratories in the fields of biomedical and science throughout Indonesia and ASEAN.
  2. To supply animal research models for metabolic disorders and non-infectious diseases.
  3. Development of an entrepreneur unit based on research results from researchers at Brawijaya University.
  4. Development of methods that have obtained intellectual property rights in UB.
