Just recapturing the Rector Cup Cup last week, now the achievement of FTP is again expanding its wings to the neighboring country. This April, the FTP delegation team ranked second for the 5th International Biotechnology Competition and Exhibition at UTM Malaysia. The team consists of Hana Luthfiyah, Trisha Artha Sitorus, and Listy Laura Boru Simanungkali, all of them from the TEP department. In this competition, the delegation from FTP presented a research with the theme of technology development entitled ‘(BIOWAROYA) Biofood Wrap from Nata de Soya for Fast Food Industry to Archive Green and Sustainable World’.

Garbage is not a new problem to be discussed at this time. There have been many attempts to clean the environment from waste, but many are still not effective. Therefore, this team presented a bioplastics innovation which would later be applied in the instant food industry. This bioplastics will replace instant disposable plastic packaging which is undegradable. The team hopes that with the implementation of this bioplastic technology, the environment will be cleaner and also reduce the production of waste. Keep the spirit, environment fighters!
