Blood Donation Activity by the Family of Environmental Engineering Students of FTP UB

 

Thursday, September 5, 2019, the Family of Environmental Engineering Students held a blood donor activity. In its implementation, KMTL collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross organization. Blood donor activity starts at around 09.10 WIB in the right lobby. All volunteers who are interested in becoming blood donors come to the registration desk in the right lobby. All participants must first read the requirements to ensure safety while making a blood drive. Furthermore, volunteers filled out the donor’s presence and filled out the blood donor form provided by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). After completing the blood donor form, donors are given a queue number and at the same time a number for safekeeping of goods placed in the registration section. Then the donor is directed by the committee to go to the waiting room in the left lobby and provide a blood donor form to the committee in charge. The form is used to later be called according to the queue number. After the queue number is called, the donor enters the blood pressure, weight, blood type, and hemoglobin check room to be used as a requirement whether the donor meets the qualifications or not. Donors who do not qualify are allowed to return to the registration office to get their bags and shoot their queue numbers. Meanwhile, donors who pass into the medical room, but before entering the medical room the donor is given a wet tissue by the committee to clean the arms that will be used for blood collection. Donors are also directed to leave a queue number and throw the gauze used to check blood type and hemoglobin in the trash bag that has been prepared by the committee beside the medical room. Furthermore, donors entered the medical room to carry out blood donor processes carried out by the PMI. After the blood donor process is complete, the donor takes a gift from PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) and then exits the medical room then the committee is directed to the front of the medical room to go to the donor’s presence. Donors are invited to go to the refreshment area so that donors take a rest after blood donation and are given warm tea if the donor wishes to drink. Then the donor goes out of the left lobby to the registration room again to collect the items deposited. Blood donor activity was closed at 13:17 WIB. This activity takes place lively and aims to facilitate students who want to donate blood and distributed to those in need. (ER)
