There are many foods and beverages on the market that contain hazardous chemical substances such as Aspartame, Borax, and Rhodamine B. The addition of these substances into foods or beverages can adversely affect the human body. Because of it, we need a study about the levels of these additives.
It’s the background of students from Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Brawijaya University, Malang to hold a research of Aspartame, Borax, and Rhodamine B dielectric properties through Student Creativity Program- Research (PKM-P) which was mentored by Dimas Firmanda Al Riza, ST, M.Sc. the PKM-P team was leaded by Lanny Ariani (TEP 2012) with the members Kaifah Andriani (TEP 2012), Nur Syafira Khoirunnisa (TEP 2012), and Putu Ayu Anggia Asasia (THP 2013) research about dielectric properties of Aspartame, Borax, and Rhodamine B used LCR Meter,
Lanny explained, “so far the research of the Aspartame, Borax, and Rhodamine B is held with Laboratory test because there aren’t tools that can be used to identify the three addictive substances. Because of it we research the dielectric properties from three substances so later can be developed as fast detection tools of food materials addictive substance multi parameter.”
The result of this research from this Student Creativity Program-Research Sector is covering the dielectric characteristics data of Aspartame, Borax, and Rhodamine B, so it can be developed into a base for making fast detection tools of addictive substance food materials multi parameter.
