On Friday, April 5 2019, the Bioprocess Engineering Study Programme Brawijaya University conducted an Industrial Visit to PT. Yakult Indonesia Persada located in Ngoro Industri, Ngoro, Jarang Sari, Lolawang, Ngoro, Mojokerto, East Java. This Visitation was attended by 61 (sixty one) students and a companion lecturer. Students gather at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Brawijaya University at 4:00. The group then traveled from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Brawijaya University at 4:45 a.m. and arrived at the location at 07:30. The students then received lecture from the speaker PT Yakult Indonesia Persada.
Students are given historical education from PT. Yakult as a manufacturing company engaged in fermented milk production. The company began operations on April 1, 1997 and currently the production capacity of PT. Yakult reaches 3,650,000 bottles / day. Further explained that Yakult is fermented milk containing beneficial bacteria L.casei Shirota living strains that are proven safe for humans and bacteria still live up to the small intestine. The benefits of Yakult are to help maintain the balance of good bacteria in the intestine, suppress the growth of harmful bacteria, maintain the condition of the body and improve the digestive system. The students were then invited to take a tour to see the production process starting from the process of preparing raw materials to products ready to be marketed.
