FTP UB builds 50 SMEs in Batu through Matching Fund Program

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya (FTP UB) held a Matching Fund for Technical Guidance and mentoring of 50 MSMEs in Batu City at the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) of Cooperatives & MSMEs in Batu City, Thursday (7/9/2023) involving 20 FTP students and 15 lecturers from FTP, FT and FILKOM as assistants and facilitators.

Presenting Hafid Kustanto, Head of Manufacturing PT Madurasa Unggul Nusantara, Budi Sulistyowati from BPOM East Java, Jaya Mahar Maligan, STP. MP and Rini Yulianingsih, Ph.D. along with the facilitator team of Universitas Brawijaya, the event was attended by the dean of FTP UB, Prof. Yusuf Hendrawan, STP. M.App. Life. Sc. Ph.D and head of Cooperative Micro-Business and trade (Diskumdag) Batu City, Drs. Eko Suhartono, MM.

The Chief Executive Of The Event, Dr. Siti Asmaul Mustaniroh explained that this activity can support the achievement of IKU 2 perguruan tinggi about students studying outside the campus and IKU 3 about lecturers working, besides that the matching fund partnership between UB and PLUT KUMKM Kota Batu through the GMP mini plant mockup model is also a real step to support universities in improving the performance of resilient processed food SMEs towards global market competitiveness.

While Prof. Yusuf Hendrawan as the Dean said that “Alhamdulillah, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology UB gets a lot of matching funds, one of which is for Good Manufacturing Practice assistance for 50 MSMEs in Batu City which is a follow-up to the matching fund activity with the 2022 Batu Diskumdag. GMP is important to note that manufacturers produce quality products according to consumer demands.

“Last year we have been successful with the development of fresh frying product. Now we continue with the assistance of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), GMP is important to note because it ensures the quality and fulfillment of quality requirements and food safety that is safe and healthy.”obviously.
