Art paper making practices
Sunday (1/9) FTP-UB Community Service Program was conducted by several FTP lecturers (Faculty of Agricultural Technology) Department of Agricultural Industry Technology Universitas Brawijaya with Taqwa Al Qolbi Foundation, Malang. This program included training on making art paper from plant fibers and used paper by Nur Lailatul Rahmah, S.Sc., M.Sc, Ika Atsari Dewi, STP, MP, Azimmatul Ihwah, S.Pd, M.Sc, Hendrix Yulis Setyawan STP, M.Sc, Ph.D and several students as presenters. The event took place from 10:00 to 14:00 which took place at the Taqwa Al Qolbi Foundation, Malang.
The program consists of training in making art paper from plant fibers, namely elephant grass, areca nut and banana leaves, using a mixture of used paper, newspapers. The program began with the opening of the form of joint prayer, module distribution, pre-test, material exposure, paper making practices, gift givingl, and group photo session. The event was attended by children from the Taqwa Al Qolbi Foundation and several administrators as spectators.
It is expected that with this activity the use of used paper and plant fibers as material for making art paper can be increased and developed as a substitute for wood raw materials (Afi).
