The team of Doctor of Service (DM) Universitas Brawijaya collaborated again with thematic KKN and Meru Betiri National Park (TNMB) in running community service program (PkM) in tnmb area village. Sanenrejo village as one of the buffer villages in the TNMB area has several community groups formed as an effort to empower businesses for the common welfare.

Goat farming activities become one form of business undertaken by the Betiri Sejahtera Lestari (BSL) and Arema Sejahtera groups. There are several obstacles that cause livestock activities can not run efficiently, such as limited feed ingredients and organic fertilizer processing from livestock that had stalled and have not met SNI. In addition, the group also runs a banana chips processing business that is constrained by management arrangements, especially the higher packaging costs of its production activities.

“Improving the capability, production efficiency of silage fodder and organic fertilizer, as well as institutional livestock groups through the dissemination of Proven Technology in the village of buffer Meru Betiri, Jember” is the title of the program carried out as an effort to overcome the business constraints experienced. A series of technical guidance and technology dissemination activities were carried out at the BSL and Arema Sejahtera groups.

Activities carried out in the form of technical guidance as well as the practice of making silage feed and organic fertilizer according to standards, as well as dissemination and introduction of versatile chopper machines. In addition, there were also technical guidance activities for business management and institutions, food processing innovation practices, as well as dissemination and introduction of continous sealer machines. All of these activities are expected to provide benefits to the community in terms of Economy, Environment, and institutions.

“Hopefully, the collaboration, assistance, and activities carried out can be useful for you and all parties involved.”said Mrs. Rini as chief executive in his speech.
