A team of assessors from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) visited the S3 Food Science Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Brawijaya University, Saturday (23/06/2024). This site visit is done after the proof reading stage of form 3A and 3B documents. The team of assessors who attended included Prof. Dr. Kusnandar ferry, M.Sc (Institut Pertanian Bogor) and Prof. Dr. Ir. Murhadi (University Of Lampung). Both were received directly by the dean of FTP, Prof. Yusuf Hendrawan, STP. M.App.Life.Sc. Ph.d Deans, head of FTP Quality Assurance Group along with FTP Food Science S3 Task Force team in FTP courtroom 7th floor.

During the visitation process, the assessor team saw physical evidence of accreditation forms and the process of providing available educational services. The next Agenda is a meeting with the S3 DIP community consisting of students, lecturers and alumni. In addition, the assessor team also reviewed the facilities in the classroom, laboratory in the Department of Agricultural Products Technology, Food Production and Training Center (Bakery THP) and the entire FTP laboratory.

Vice dean I for Academic Affairs, Endrika Widyastuti, SPt. MSc. MP. Ph. D revealed, “the accreditation of PS S3 DIP shows the quality and professional governance of postgraduate education in science and management. Of course, this will be correlated to improve the competence of graduates, ” he explained.

While Prof. Feri and Prof. Murhadi as the assessor explained that in general , although human resources, finance, infrastructure and governance of S3 DIP FTP are well organized, it is good that PS S3 DIP improves networking with doctoral programs in food science of other universities.

In response, the dean of FTP, Prof. Yusuf Hendrawan, STP. M.App.Life.Sc. Ph.d explained that the management of facilities and infrastructure in one Universitas Brawijaya can be used together. However, the infrastructure owned by FTP itself is sufficient for research. The Data shows that currently FTP is the only faculty in UB that has corporate laboratory for the first time. In addition, joint research and joint publication programs are also available. (dse)
