While vice dean of FTP for Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Mochamad Bagus Hermanto, S.TP., M.Sc. explained that this Expo was deliberately held to motivate other students as well as to support student innovation and entrepreneurship.

“The downstream potential of Student Innovation results to the community is very large. The innovative work of students is not in the form of a prototype but can be applied directly to the community, company or MSME. As for student entrepreneurship products, they have been sold in the ABC-Mart marketplace which is also an e-commerce innovation by students. So it’s like starting from the product, innovation, research , service , to the market , there is everything and we really support it. One proof of our support is the conversion of 6-10 credits for those who qualify for funding or become PIMNAS finalists. It can even be free thesis. Long before the ministerial regulation, we have been applying free thesis for students since 2016. and not only that, we also protect the innovation of student works with patents or intellectual property rights that are very useful in protecting their innovation findings if they are later used by industry or the wider community,” he concluded.
